The Collaborative Research program aims to advance humanistic knowledge by supporting teams of scholars working on a joint endeavor. NEH encourages projects that incorporate multiple points of view, pursue new avenues of inquiry in the humanities, and lead to manuscripts for print publication or to scholarly digital projects.

Collaborators may come from one or more institutions. They may propose research in a single field of study or interdisciplinary work. NEH encourages partnerships with researchers from the natural and social sciences, but projects must focus on humanistic content and employ humanistic methods. International collaboration is welcome, but scholars at U.S. institutions must contribute significantly to the project.

Proposed projects must aim to result in tangible and sustainable outcomes, such as a co-authored or multi-authored book; a themed issue of a peer-reviewed journal; a series of peer-reviewed articles; a born-digital publication; or an open-access website or other digital resource. All project outcomes must incorporate collaboration and interpretation to address significant humanities research questions.

The program includes four project categories: Planning International Collaboration, Convening, Manuscript Preparation, and Scholarly Digital Projects. The categories support different project types or stages and have different performance periods and award ceilings. Applicants must specify only one project category for support.

Digitizing Hidden Special Collections and Archives: Amplifying Unheard Voices is a grant competition administered by the Council on Library and Information Resources (CLIR) for digitizing rare and unique content stewarded by collecting organizations in the US and Canada.

Launched in 2021, the program is designed to support efforts to digitize materials that deepen public understanding of the histories of people of color and other communities and populations whose work, experiences, and perspectives have been insufficiently recognized or unattended. Initial Applications for the second round of funding are due by November 1, 2023. See details at Apply for an Award.

These often “hidden” histories include, but are not limited to, those of Black, Indigenous, Latine, and other People of Color; Women; Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgender, Non-binary, and other Genderqueer people and communities; Immigrants; Displaced populations; Blind, Deaf, and Disabled people and communities; and Colonized, Disenfranchised, Enslaved, and Incarcerated people.

The Shubert Foundation is the nation’s largest funder dedicated to unrestricted funding of not-for-profit theatres and dance companies.

The Foundation's Board of Directors believes that the most effective way to encourage the artistic process is by providing the general operating support that reinforces the structure that nurtures its development. Accordingly, the Foundation does not earmark its awards; all allocations are unrestricted.

Although our primary emphasis is on theatre, with a secondary focus on dance, we do also offer some awards to arts-related organizations and MFA programs that help support their growth and advancement.

We are dedicated to thoroughly assessing our non-profit partner programs so that those who are passionate about supporting music education don’t have to.

Through a disciplined bi-annual application process, the D’Addario Foundation awards grants to upwards of 200 non-profit music education organizations each year. 

The Hearst Foundations fund cultural institutions that offer meaningful programs in the arts and sciences, prioritizing those that enable engagement by young people and create a lasting and measurable impact. The Foundations also fund select programs nurturing and developing artistic talent. Supported organizations include arts schools, ballets, museums, operas, performing arts centers, symphonies and theaters.

MyMA Artist Grant is a monthly juried grant that provides an unrestricted $500 award to one artist each month. In addition to the winner, our independent jurors recognize 5 artists as honorable mentions for each edition. We publish a written or video profile of the selected artists on MyMA's website and social channels. Submissions for the August edition of the MyMA Artist Grant are open now through September 5th. To ensure accessibility and inclusivity, applications are free.

Any artist living in the State of New Jersey can apply for a relief grant between $1,000 and $2,000. You do NOT have to be a YA artist or an ensemble member of a YA-affiliated group. All applications and awards are granted on an individual basis as opposed to passing through ensembles, arts organizations or business entities. The Awesome Foundation is a global community advancing the interest of awesome in the universe, $1000 at a time. Each fully autonomous chapter supports awesome projects through micro-grants, usually given out monthly. These micro-grants, $1000 or the local equivalent, come out of pockets of the chapter's "trustees" and are given on a no-strings-attached basis to people and groups working on awesome projects.

Innovate Grant distributes (2) $1,800.00 grants each quarter, to one Visual Artist and one Photographer. 
Our newly increased $1,800.00 grants act as mighty sparks of financial support that ignite your creative development.

Our grant cycles are open (4) times a year (Winter, Spring, Summer and Fall) giving you more opportunities to access the support you need.

Our process is simple so you spend less time on the application and more time making your important work.

The Activation, Revitalization, and Transformation (ART) Program, establishes a one-time grant opportunity to support economic recovery in urban areas with mass transit that have faced economic harms from the reduction of commuters due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Funded at $10 million, the ART pilot program will address these harms through the creation of two programs, one for Real Estate Rehabilitation and Development projects and one for Public Space Activation initiatives
