The ARP State and Local Block Grant Tracker, which allows arts organizations, state and local governments and others to enter information about how they are hoping to use ARP funds for the arts sector. The tracker asks for basic information such as location, dollar amount, brief program description, proposed audience/beneficiary, along with where the project is in the approval process (idea, formal proposal, approved, money received). We encourage you to fill out this tracker if you have such a project. It is our hope to not only use the data (which is public) to demonstrate how the arts have been used to help our economy rebuild, but to also identify those projects that were designed to specifically and primarily serve populations that have been or are systemically underrepresented and underserved.

Arts and Economic Prosperity 6 Americans for the Arts seeks 250 partner organizations to participate in AEP6, their sixth national economic impact study of America’s nonprofit arts and cultural industry. Contracts must be completed by September 30, 2021. Data collection begins on January 1, 2022. Final reports will be delivered by May 31, 2023. All national, statewide, and local findings will be released in June 2023.

The Artist-in-Residence programs at The Studio provide artists the opportunity to research and experiment with new techniques and subjects in their work. Artists-in-Residence are invited to utilize the resources of the Museum’s campus including The Studio, the extensive collections and archives of the Museum, and the Rakow Research Library.

In 2023 the Oak Spring Garden Foundation will host five separate five-week interdisciplinary residencies. Each session is designed to support eight artists who are pursuing work inspired by plants, gardens and landscapes. The goal of this residency program is to provide individuals with the time and space to pursue their own creative projects alongside other residents who may be examining the natural world from different perspectives.

Stochastic Labs awards fully sponsored residencies to exceptional engineers, artists, scientists, and entrepreneurs from around the world. Residencies are of variable length and include a private apartment at the mansion, co-working and/or dedicated workspace, shop access (laser cutter, 3D printer, etc), a $1k monthly stipend, and a budget for materials. Residents become part of Stochastic’s creative community, participating in weekly dinners and invitation events. Residents may apply as individuals or as teams. While applicants may be at any stage in their career, the selection is highly competitive.

Willowtail offers one-week to three-week residencies during the entire year for scholarship-funded, partially-scholarship-funded, and fully self-funded residencies for practitioners in The Arts and Ecology. Each resident is required to deliver a community offering within one calendar year of their residency. Whether this takes the form of a lecture, presentation, demonstration, teaching, a slideshow of work, exhibition in the local community, is up to the resident and director.

The Artist In Residence Program (AIR) serves K - 5 students in all six Jamestown elementary schools following the school calendar. Residency options include a fall semester and a winter/spring semester, or both. Artists follow a visual arts curriculum structured on basic design elements working with teachers and administrators. Each rotation requires a completed “Unit Plan” which includes lesson plans or goals, supplies needed, and a section for teacher feedback.
