The South Jersey Cultural Alliance is excited to invite our members to participate in our Virtual Holiday Market. This holiday season, we want to bring the magic of art and culture directly to patrons in the region, and we need you, our talented artists, to make it happen!

Selected artists receive 80% consignment and are sent payment at the end of each month.

Supporting Our Community

By participating in the Virtual Holiday Market, you gain exposure as an artist and contribute to the broader arts & culture community. 20% of the proceeds from this Virtual Holiday Market will directly go to administrative costs.

Eligibility Requirements:

• An SJCA Member
• Social Media and or online portfolio
• 2-3 pieces available for sale (aka prints, paintings, sculptures, crafts, pottery, clay, etc)
• Application completed before the deadline
• Needs to be able to submit a W9
• Created without using AI

South Jersey Cultural Alliance is excited to announce an open call for artists in South Jersey to participate as vendors at the Stockton Performing Arts Center. SJCA is seeking artists focusing on art and illustration during the intermission of Odyssey. Artists must have prints, stickers, or any other materials available to sell. Artists will be able to sell and share their work among visitors at the performance and emphasize the importance of South Jersey arts.

Details: This opportunity is for Friday, November 10, 2023, from 6:00 – 7:30 PM and during the show's intermission. Artists are free to attend the show. The deadline to confirm your attendance at the table is Friday, November 3, 2023.

Artistic Production Grants are awarded twice annually to individual artists, nonprofit organizations, and institutions to support new artistic commissions that take place outside museum or gallery walls, within the public realm, or in non-traditional exhibition environments. Individual artists or producing organizations seeking production funding must have a confirmed exhibition venue or presenting partner. Artistic Production funding ranges from $25,000 to $100,000 (can be lower than $25,000) per project, with grants at the upper levels of funding reserved for permanent or long-term installations, or newly commissioned works that may be gifted to a U.S. public collection. Artistic Production Grants are awarded to projects that best exemplify our three core values of Artistic Production, Thought Leadership, and Public Engagement.

The Hopper Prize  is now accepting entries for our Fall 2023 artist grants. We are offering $3,500 and $1,000 grants to artists and photographers around the world.Grants will be awarded through an open call art competition juried by leading contemporary curators. Current Jurors: Laura Phipps, Assistant Curator, Whitney Museum of American Art and Rachel Winter, Assistant Curator, Eli and Edythe Broad Art Museum. The Hopper Prize was established in order to increase the recognition of artwork created by artists and photographers. Our aim is to advance artists' careers by providing them with unrestricted financial support that is coupled with a platform for increased visibility. We accept submissions twice a year via an open call. We are currently accepting submissions for the Fall 2023 grant cycle.

The Projects Serving Artists (PSA) grant program provides support to help eligible organizations cover costs for technical support or services to artists who reside in New Jersey or whose work benefits New Jersey residents. The project must demonstrate direct benefit to New Jersey artists.

Applicants may request up to $25,000 in support of the project’s direct expenses. Grant funds must be matched 1:1 ($1 earned or raised and spent per $1 received from the Arts Council).

Applicants may propose a new or significantly renewed project. Examples of eligible renewed projects are those that have evidence of success in serving the artist community and are being re-envisioned in a significant way.

The Arts Council will prioritize projects that are free or accessible to artists for a reduced fee.

General Operating Support (GOS) grants provide annual support for the overall operations of organizations with missions exclusively devoted to the arts and which meet the Council’s eligibility criteria. GOS grants are typically awarded with a three-year commitment, subject to contract stipulations, and available funds which are contingent upon, in part, the passage of the state budget for the grant cycle. Beginning in FY25, there is no match requirement for the GOS grant.

The New Jersey State Council on the Arts is pleased to share Part One of The Business of Being an Artist Virtual Workshop Series, “Every Artist Insured: Understanding Your Options in New Jersey.” The artist workshop series is free and open to any artist, teaching artist, or folk artist who lives and/or works in New Jersey.

"Every Artist Insured” will give you clear, step-by-step guidance on what all your insurance options are and how to get the most affordable coverage to fit your needs. You’ll learn about Affordable Care Act plans, Medicaid, COBRA, and how to get discounted care if you’re uninsured. Find out how to estimate variable/sporadic income and see if you’re eligible for free insurance or expanded subsidies to reduce your premiums. This is an excellent opportunity for unbiased, comprehensive information from an experienced health insurance navigator.

Join other arts educators and supervisors for this new year-long series! Participants will engage in facilitated dialogue as well as peer-to-peer learning, in order to actively explore approaches to teaching and learning that empower student artists. This series will feature examples that model holistic implementation of the 2020 NJSLS-VPA, with focus on planning and assessment, to support the range of student populations in classrooms today. 

The series will combine (two) full-day, in-person workshops, along with (three) 90 minute sessions in Zoom format. This series is ideal for those who supervise the arts, and for arts educators in all arts disciplines. Enrollment in this series includes access to a Google Classroom designed to support the learning, in addition to the two i n-person workshops and an archived recording of the virtual sessions.
