Calls & OpportunitiesFrom Arts Ed NJ's website: "This unique opportunity, offered during the 2024-2025 academic year, is designed to help meet demands and increase the impact of Arts Ed NJ’s professional learning. Participants will take part in this learning community in order to better support arts educators in an approach to arts education which is student-centered and meets the diverse needs of students throughout New Jersey. Participants in the PLFC will complete Arts Ed NJ’s On-Demand course and participate in a series of Guided Conversations with other members of the cohort throughout the 2024-2025 academic year. The PLFC offers a unique opportunity to 1) be in community with other leaders in the field, 2) learn alongside a team of Lead Facilitators serving as a trusted resource, 3) engage in guided reflection that will prepare participants to deepen their understanding of approaches to arts education that are student-centered, 4) complete a self-paced course focused on leveraging the Visual and Performing Arts Learning Standards as a member of this cohort, and 5) have potential new opportunities to become a facilitator of workshop content designed by Arts Ed NJ. The focus of all activities (synchronous and asynchronous) will be to leverage the student learning standards in Visual and Performing Arts, with attention to the direct connections to Social Emotional Learning and Culturally Responsive and Sustaining Practices as a foundation to teaching and learning. Under the supervision of an Arts Ed NJ Project Lead, the PLFC cohort and four Lead Facilitators will convene synchronously for Guided Conversation and workshops; participants will also complete twelve (12) modules of a self-paced, On-Demand course offered through Arts Ed NJ asynchronously. Participants will have a minimum of 6 years experience as an arts educator and/or supervisor in one or more artforms, i.e. dance, theatre, music, visual art, and/or media arts. Arts Ed NJ’s Professional Learning Facilitation Community (PLFC) is a paid opportunity that may lead to future opportunities to lead workshops as an independent contractor on behalf of Arts Ed NJ Professional Learning. Members of the PLFC cohort will meet from October 2024-May 2025. Participants will be paid a flat rate of $1,000 for all activities outlined above, paid in 3 installments, during this period.
