Policy World Wednesdays | The New Jersey Center for Nonprofits and the Council of New Jersey Grantmakers are excited to launch Policy World Wednesdays, FREE monthly Zoom sessions focused on key policy issues affecting the nonprofit and philanthropic communities. Join every month to discuss all things policy, including the latest developments at the federal, state and local levels; legislative insights and advocacy opportunities; and to share any other policy or advocacy issues currently on your organization’s radar. Network with, and learn from, other changemakers to help stay abreast of current trends, build partnerships and strengthen advocacy skills for increased influence in public policy matters. The Cultural Arts Facilities Expansion (CAFE) Program provides tax credits to incentivize broad scale capital projects for arts and cultural venues in New Jersey. The CAFE program focuses on development and rehabilitation of cultural arts facilities as a key component of the state’s economy. We are in a moment where reactions to the fight for equitable and just workplaces range from persistent enthusiasm to a shift in priorities, to outright resistance and even legal restrictions. This panel will offer some historical context about previous cycles of pushback in the U.S. and will feature thought leaders from university and corporate sectors who have managed to keep DEIA work central to their organizations despite a changing social and political climate and will focus on how arts organizations can do so as well. Sensory-friendly experiences can be designed to create welcoming and accessible environments for children and adults with cognitive disabilities. This session will explore best practices for developing sensory-friendly experiences for theatres, museums, film, and other artistic disciplines.
