NJ Monuments to Migration and Labor | RFQ: Monument Installations That Honor Immigrants and Migrants | Monuments to Migration and Labor: The New Jersey Im/migrant Laborers’ Monument Project invites artists to apply to create one of three temporary Monument Installations that honor immigrants’ and migrants’ contributions to the state of New Jersey as laborers. Each selected artist will be assigned to one of the state’s three regions (North Jersey, Central Jersey, or South Jersey) and will create a temporary monument installation that is responsive to and inspired by extensive community dialogues that will be conducted by trained facilitators in each region. Long Beach Island Foundation | Open Call: Plein Air Plus 2025: The Tenth Annual Juried Exhibition | The Long Beach Island Foundation of the Arts and Sciences is pleased to announce the ninth "Plein Air Plus" Competition and Exhibition on Long Beach Island, New Jersey.
The juror will pick approximately 50 artists to participate in the Paint Out on Long Beach Island during July and August. Artworks Trenton | Trenton Artwalk EOI | The Trenton Transit Center, which serves Amtrak rail, New Jersey Transit bus and rail, South East Philadelphia Transportation Authority (SEPTA) rail, and the River Line light rail line, is a major transit gateway to Trenton, the State Capital of New Jersey. The Transit Center is a short walk to downtown Trenton, including several residential neighborhoods, the downtown business district, parks, galleries and entertainment venues, state, county and city government offices. At present, pedestrians must navigate a network of vehicular on-ramps, barren traffic islands, and a dark and dirty highway underpass on their walk from the Transit Center to downtown Trenton. A coalition of non-profit, local and state government partners, led by Artworks Trenton Inc., Trenton’s non-profit visual art center, is seeking to create an “Artwalk” along this route, commissioning and installing public art, along with wayfinding, traffic calming, and landscaping elements, in order to transform the walk between the Transit Center and downtown Trenton into a visually appealing and safe experience, encouraging healthy behaviors such as walking and bicycling, and encouraging increased use of public transit by Trenton residents, commuters and visitors. | Deadline: June 6, 2025 | More information and application.

Abington Art Center | Call for Art: 2025 Summer Juried Show: The Real | The Real is an exhibition that highlights artists’ technical abilities in rendering real life within art, from realism to hyperrealism. Artists have a unique ability to blur the boundary between the physical world and the creative plane through their artwork. The effect of such, known as “trompe l’oeil”, has been seen throughout art history, from ancient Greek painter Zeuxis’ grape still life that was so realistic it attracted hungry birds, to contemporary artist Ron Mueck’s figurative sculptures that make audiences look twice. PEN America | PEN America U.S. Writers Aid Initiative | The U.S. Writers Aid Initiative is intended to assist fiction and nonfiction authors, poets, playwrights, translators, and journalists in addressing short-term financial emergencies. To be eligible, applicants must be professional writers based in the United States, and be able to demonstrate that this one-time grant will be meaningful in helping address a short-term emergency situation. This program offers grants between $100 and $1,000 for individual Native artists and culture bearers. First Peoples Fund (FPF) finds it essential to support artists in their times of need, especially when their work is impacted by sudden hardship. The Andy Warhol Foundation Arts Writers Grant | Applications Now OPEN! | The Andy Warhol Foundation Arts Writers Grant supports emerging and established writers who write about contemporary visual art. Greenwich Craft Faire | Apply to Be An Exhibitor! | The Greenwich Craft Faire is open to artists and craftspeople working in all mediums who design and create their own work. Work that is not hand-made will not be accepted. Exhibiting artists must be present on both days of the Faire. The Craft Faire provides exhibitor space only. Exhibitors are required to furnish and install tents, boot walls, booth lighting, tables and display units. The 2024 Greenwich Craft Faire team will provide day-before setup assistance, overnight security, booth sitters, and hospitality throughout the show.
