Artist Open Calls
New Jersey State Council on the Arts & TCNJ | Expression of Interest: Campus Quad Project | On behalf of The College of New Jersey (TCNJ), the New Jersey State Council on the Arts is soliciting Expressions of Interest (EOI) from prospective artists to design, fabricate, and install artwork on Forcina/West quad on the TCNJ campus in Ewing, NJ. TCNJ is interested in a sculptural work(s) that is/are interactive or functional for use of the campus community in the quad between the Roscoe West Hall and Forcina Hall buildings. These could be several related pieces that could be a gathering place for groups of students, serve as seating, or in other ways encourage interaction and use of the space. The quad has some small hills and there is lawn and plantings planned after neighboring building construction is completed. Since several different education programs use the adjacent buildings (including technology, science, education and inclusion programs), the works should be inviting to all and non-specific to any one field of study. | Deadline: December 16th, 2024 | More information and application.

This show is our annual spotlight exhibition of new and emerging talent, as chosen and curated by Arch Enemy Arts, with no themes or direction in subject matter allowing applicants to focus on their best personal work. Monument Lab | Open Call: Gray 30th Street Station | The William H. Gray III Memorial Foundation, in partnership with Amtrak and Monument Lab, is conducting an Open Call for Artist Ideas to envision and build a monumental “living memorial” to Congressman Gray’s legacy and values. The memorial will be situated within the great hall of Gray 30th Street Station, the historic train depot in Philadelphia that engages over 100,000 people each day. Visionary Art Collective | Those Who Tend: Juried Exhibition | Visionary Art Collective is partnering with Warnes Contemporary Gallery in New York City to present our annual in-person juried group exhibition, Those Who Tend, curated by Kaylan Buteyn. These days, we have so much to tend to—countless demands that deserve our attention. Our art practice needs nurturing, our children need feeding, our gardens need weeding, and our inboxes need clearing. We are pulled in many directions, tending to various aspects of life. Yet, the most important tending we often overlook is towards ourselves. This call is a reflection for "those who tend"—an invitation to submit work created amidst the challenges of balancing a life full of responsibilities. Artist parents who are juggling their art practice, careers, domestic tasks, caregiving, and carving out time for self-care are invited to submit their work. Those Who Tend will be presented at Warnes Contemporary in Brooklyn on April 24, 2025, and will run for approximately six to eight weeks. This exhibition will be actively promoted through social media on Visionary Art Collective, Warnes Contemporary, and the Artist/Mother Podcast. Additionally, a select number of artists will be chosen for an exclusive interview on the Artist/Mother podcast and featured in New Visionary Magazine. Bridgeton Free Public Library | Harvesting History: Cumberland County’s Oyster Legacy Preserved at the John DuBois Maritime Museum | This presentation will use artifacts, photographs, and recorded stories to provide an overview of the oyster industry’s rise during its peak years and the decline due to overharvesting and disease. Fine Arts Work Center | 2025-2026 Writing Fellowship Application | The Fine Arts Work Center invites applications for its 2025-26 Writing Fellowship, which is open to writers in the emerging stages of their careers. Creative Capital | Creative Capital Awards | Creative Capital awards approximately 50 artists each year to create innovative work that pushes formal, conceptual, or social boundaries. The Creative Capital Award provides individual artists with unrestricted project grants which can be drawn down over a multi-year period, as well as bespoke professional development services, and community-building opportunities. Innovate Grant | Artist Grants | Innovate Grant awards (2) $1,800.00 grants each quarter, to one Visual Artist and one Photographer. In addition, (12) honorable mentions (6 in art and 6 in photo), will be featured on their website and join a growing community of vibrant and talented artists. Innovate Grant’s commitment extends beyond the grant cycle by promoting the work of selected winners and honorable mentions into the future. First Peoples Fund | Yéigo Action Grant | The Yéigo Action Grant provides support for the growing landscape of Native artists and culture bearers who need financial assistance with a professional development opportunity or towards a hardship that is hindering their creative practice. This program offers grants between $100 and $5,000 for individual Native artists and culture bearers. First Peoples Fund (FPF) finds it essential to support artists in their times of need, especially when their work is impacted by sudden hardship. This grant’s name incorporates the Diné word yéigo, often used as a phrase of encouragement that can mean “keep going” or “don’t give up.” While some requests related to a current artistic project may be eligible, please note that Yéigo Action Grants are not intended to assist with funding new artist projects or to provide general support for an existing project. | Deadline: 10th of every month | More information and application.
NewMusic | Reel Change Film Fund | In October 2020, New Music USA announced the launch of Reel Change: The Fund for Diversity in Film Scoring, powered by SESAC and composer Christophe Beck, sponsored by Amazon Studios, and administered by New Music USA. The Pollock-Krasner Foundation | Pollock-Krasner Foundation Grant | The Foundation welcomes applications from visual artists who are painters, sculptors, and artists who work on paper, including printmakers. Grants are intended for a one-year period of time. The Foundation will review expenditures relating to an artist’s professional work and personal expenses, and amounts range up to $50,000.
