We invite everyone to attend Spring into Comics, a jam-packed event full of comics, costumes, karaoke, and more!
At our collaborative Spring into Comics event at Atlantic Cape County College (Atlantic City Campus) on May 13th, the Midtown community will step into the world of superheroes. From classic superheroes to modern anti-heroes, there will be many opportunities to celebrate beloved characters from comics, anime, and manga at this season’s event. Whether you’re a fan of comics or manga or more of a fan of tv and movies, there’s something for everyone.
Local artists from South Jersey will be showcasing their work and giving art demos. Our roster for this event highlights talented illustrators such as Garland Holloman of GalicaGraphics, Ted Woods, Tony DiGerolamo, and Hector Ortega!
Redonkulous Entertainment is an 8-person team from Atlantic City, NJ, that specializes in various forms of entertainment, including comic book creation, a clothing line, and artistic endeavors on their YouTube channel. They aim to inspire people to be proud of who they are and believe that with relentless focus, anyone can achieve their goals.
Just in time for Mother's Day, make a paper flower for your mom with Paper Posy Peddler, Mallorie Evans!
Costumes and cosplay are welcome, and there will be opportunities for face painting by Christina’s Face Painting & Entertainment Services and a mask-making workshop followed by the Best Mask Contest at the end of the event!
Bring your best at karaoke, and be sure to spot the South Jersey Pikachu when you come in!
We are excited to announce a donation and collaboration with Puchicon, an anime and gaming festival at Bally’s Atlantic City, and a generous donation from Panther Comics, providing free comic books at the event’s giveaway!
Be sure to stop by the Neighborhood Postcard Project table, where residents are encouraged to fill out a positive personal story of their community which is mailed to community members outside of the Midtown area to bond and connect with Midtown residents and surrounding communities.
2nd Saturday for the Midtown Community is a community arts & culture programming with different monthly themes funded by the AtlantiCare Foundation in collaboration with Midtown CDC. Keep your calendars marked for next month’s 2nd Saturday, June 10th!
