South Jersey Cultural Alliance A.C. Artist Residency
For Immediate Release
South Jersey Cultural Alliance is excited to announce a collaboration with Midtown CDC and funded by the AtlantiCare Foundation to provide community arts residencies to support artists from Atlantic City in leading artistic and community driven programming to residents throughout Midtown Atlantic City.
South Jersey Cultural Alliance unites cultural community members to create the synergy needed for an inclusive, thriving sector. We connect arts, history, cultural organizations, artists, and tradition bearers to each other and their communities, linking them to the resources and opportunities they need to flourish in the eight southern counties of New Jersey.
AC Artist Residency awards all forms of visual artists with a residency of two months, provides artists with space to work on their projects and serve community-based arts programming, provides materials, and a stipend. The residency offers mentoring, support, and collaboration with artists and residents in Atlantic City. Each residency will focus on providing weekly arts community programming for a different sector of the Midtown community and provide low-income residents within the building with intergenerational community arts programming and revitalization. Community arts residencies will be hosted at New York Avenue Apartments, Atlantic Cape Community College, and another location in Midtown. Please keep in mind that facilities may limit certain forms of visual arts practices. If your work requires special equipment, please be advised that you will have to provide it yourself.
