South Jersey Cultural Alliance and community partners AtlantiCare Foundation, Midtown CDC and Atlantic Cape Community College joined on April 8th for an incredible 2nd Saturday event! Our kick off event of the spring season had a huge turn out of local community members who enjoyed food, culture, live performances, and art demonstrations. It was a wonderful way to kick off the spring season and our collaborative efforts to support the community.
The audience was in for an enjoyable day when DJ Blake showed off his unique musical skills at the event. He kept his energy high throughout the event.
The event featured some incredible performances, including a lively performance and drum circle from The Lung and KC Chann.
Midtown CDC members and residents joined the performers on stage to dance and jam along with KC Chann.
After a short break between performances, the 40+ Double Dutch Crew began their performance on stage and showed off their skills and bold moves. As they skipped, they encouraged the audience to join in, skip, dance, and jump along with them.
To close the event, Rawan performed several of her own songs with a remarkable and memorable performance.
The event also had vendors, artists, and local organizations that feature the arts and culture in South Jersey. Some of the participants included Midtown CDC, Illustrator Garland Holloman of GalicaGraphics, CROPSNJ, Atlantic City Arts Foundation (ACAF), an Easter Egg Hunt by the City of Atlantic City at Browns Park, and demonstrations by the local fire and police departments.
It was a wonderful day filled with music, arts, and culture, which made it a perfect opportunity to highlight the amazing talents that exist throughout South Jersey.
