New Jersey Economic Development Authority | A.R.T. Program Phase II Info Session | The New Jersey Economic Development Authority's Activation, Revitalization, and Transformation (A.R.T) Program – Phase II is a competitive grant program for nonprofit organizations aimed at catalyzing community placemaking efforts by leveraging the arts and cultural sector as a creative force for change. Funding will support the creation of public space activation initiatives, such as placemaking projects, public art installations, and arts-based projects, in the downtowns of 31 select municipalities whose commercial corridors have been significantly impacted by reduced commuter traffic due to COVID-19. New Jersery Theatre Alliance | Career Accelerator Program | The New Jersey Theatre Alliance Career Accelerator Program is back! This program will support three New Jersey-based Career Accelerator Fellows who identify as emerging theatre professionals of color over a six-month period from January 2025 to June 2025. The Fellows will each spend two months working part-time at the Alliance, and four months working part-time at two member theatres (two months at each). The Alliance will pay the Fellows $17/hour during all three placements, as well as a $500 travel stipend and a $500 living expense (childcare, healthcare, tuition, debt repayment, etc.) stipend. New Jersey Historical Commission | Call For Proposals: New Jersey History Conference | The New Jersey Historical Commission and RevolutionNJ will host the 2024 New Jersey History Conference, in partnership with the Eagleton Institute of Politics, on December 3, 2024, at the Rutgers - New Brunswick campus.This year’s theme, Imperfectly Civil: History of Politics and Civics in New Jersey, will examine how New Jerseyans have historically engaged with civic life through elections, public debates, activism, and beyond in addition to exploring how the history and public history fields can support democracy today. Proposals for individual presentations and full conference sessions will be accepted through August 23, 2024. Perkins Center for the Arts | SJCA | South Jersey Artscapes Guided Tour | Embark on a unique art tour of hidden South Jersey. Join a folklorist and an “outsider art” expert who will guide you through some of the region’s most stunning art environments created from stone, scrap metal and natural materials. Meet some of the creators who will be on hand to discuss their passion projects. Bus transportation included. There will be a brief lunch stop at a local restaurant (not included in our price). Murphy Writing Center of Stockton University | World Above Poetry Open Mic | Murphy Center of Stockton University's open mic poetry program, World Above, is held every month at the Noyes Arts Garage of Stockton University from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. September's featured poet is Maya Pindyck.For those attending virtually, there will be a synchronous live stream of the reading so that people can tune in if they are not able or comfortable attending in-person events. ACFPL Film Society | Elevator to the Gallows: Screening and Discussion | Join us and the Atlantic City Free Public Library’s Film Society on Saturday, September 21 at 2:30 p.m. for a film screening and discussion of the 1958 French new wave crime drama Elevator to the Gallows. This film will run for one hour and 31 minutes and is a French language film with English subtitles.About the ACFPL Film Society: If you have a passion for discussing and learning about films, we invite you to join the Atlantic City Free Public Library Film Society. Membership is free and open to Library cardholders in good standing, who are 18 years of age and older. Monthly screenings and discussions will be held on Saturday afternoons, and monthly classes on filmmaking and film history will be held on the previous Thursday evening.

Hammonton Pride & Stockton University- Kramer Hall | Drag Is Not a Crime Exhibition | Exhibiting now through September 29. In this art exhibit created in partnership with Hammonton Pride, Drag is Not a Crime, challenges societal norms and celebrates the vibrant world of drag as a form of self-expression and empowerment. Through a collection of visual artworks, fashion designs, photography, and performance pieces, the exhibit seeks to dismantle stereotypes and prejudice surrounding drag culture. It explores the history and resilience of drag artists who use their craft to break free from societal constraints. The exhibition invites viewers to question preconceived notions about gender, identity, and beauty, fostering a space where diversity is accepted and celebrated. With a blend of bold colors and powerful narratives, "Drag is Not a Crime" transcends the confines of traditional art spaces, inviting everyone to join in the celebration of authenticity and the freedom to be unapologetically oneself.
