- NJ Theatre Alliance | Cultural Access Network | Excellence in Cultural Access Awards | We often focus our attention on how to make our spaces and programs accessible for patrons with disabilities. Still, we tend to overlook that the experience starts long before and continues long after the event. How people get to your spaces, how they get home, and how they enjoy a meal with friends before or after is something we all think about - now it is time to talk about these experiences with regard to our patrons with disabilities. The morning session will feature a panel discussion on transportation options in our state for people with disabilities, the challenges of transportation for people with disabilities, and explore ways we as a community can break down transportation barriers to our venues. In addition, we will discuss what staff members of cultural organizations need to know when communicating important information to their patrons with disabilities before and after their visit and how to be an advocate for other accessible experiences in your community, like friends going out for a meal before or after attending a cultural event. | Date: June 15, 2023, | REGISTER

- Revolution NJ | The U.S. 250th anniversary, coming up in 2026, is a crucial opportunity to engage the public in the full sweep of American history. But for many history-doers, this is easier said than done. How do you interpret the U.S. 250th at your site or organization, especially if you don’t have an obvious connection to the Revolutionary era? Even if you do have a clear tie to the Revolution, how do you make that history relevant to your audiences? The AASLH is hosting a three-part webinar series that will offer best practices in interpretive planning, connections to field-wide themes for the 250th, and the chance to find inspiration and workshop ideas with fellow practitioners. Attendees can choose to attend one session, two, or all three of the series. | Read more | Dates: June 28 and July 19, 2023, at 3:00 PM | COST: $25-55
