Midtown Make Music Day Re-Cap
South Jersey Cultural Alliance (SJCA) hosted the inauguralMidtown Make Music Day on Friday, June 21, 2024, in Brown's Park, Atlantic City. This event provided a unique platform for musicians of all backgrounds and skill levels to share their music with the Midtown Community and celebrate the power of music in our community.
What is Make Music Day? Make Music Day is unlike any typical music festival. This inclusive event welcomes everyone who wishes to participate, whether young or old, amateur or professional, regardless of their musical style or genre. On this special day, streets, parks, plazas, and porches become stages for musicians to connect with friends, neighbors, and even strangers through the universal language of music.
We were proud to have the musical performances of:
Gxld Fvbrk
The KNomad Nation
And DJ Kenzi J!
In addition to the live musical performances, Midtown Make Music Day featured interactive activities and community partners such as:
- Redonkulous Entertainment
- Mighty Writers
- Midtown CDC
- Atlantic Cape Community College
- Atlantic City Arts Foundation
There were also opportunities for attendees to engage in the music-making process. The event aimed to foster a dynamic and inclusive environment where people could explore their own musical interests and be inspired by the talents of others.
After the event's conclusion, with over 200 attendees despite an intense heatwave, we can say that this event was everything Make Music Day is about and more! Thank you so much to everyone who helped make this event unique for the midtown community!
