Coffee Shop Chats
South Jersey Cultural Alliance is proud to present our Coffee Shop Chat series at the The Cultural Collective Cafe & BrickNKulture Events Space in Woodbury, New Jersey on October 28 from 10am-12pm! This program is designed to foster connection, community, and collaboration among artists in the field during an in-person meet-up at a local cafe. While an SJCA representative will be at the space to check everyone in, we hope to foster a safe space for informal artist connection between artists and creative residents based in South Jersey!
The Cultural Collective Cafe & BrickNKulture Events Space is a Black Woman-owned Cafe founded by Sadiyyah Maamoon-Means in downtown Woodbury with the intention of creating an environment for inclusivity and community. The cafe serves baked treats and a number of specialty drinks to enjoy. We are thrilled to partner with The Cultural Collective Cafe and support a local business owner and artists with our programming.
As you enter the cafe and interact with other artists, we ask everyone to consider this question: What makes an artist community?
Artist communities provide a platform for artists to connect with one another and exchange knowledge, experiences, and ideas. They are a vital part of the arts and culture in a region as artists share their concerns and have honest conversations with each other about their practices.
At SJCA, we are interested in fostering meaningful connections among artists in the field and understand the importance of providing a space where artists can share their thoughts, ideas, and stories with one another to cultivate an artistic, cultural, and regional identity.
